Rocco Sanabria is a trans activist, filmmaker, performer, and artist born and raised in NYC. His activism began at a young age; by twelve, Rocco was already using creative and impactful storytelling to advocate for trans rights throughout New York City. He has since testified twice in front of NYC City Hall, advocating for a more inclusive LGBT curriculum and school guidelines in New York City public schools. Rocco has been featured in Out Magazine, is a two-time recipient of The New York City Proclamation, and was recognized as a 2016 Live Out Loud Trailblazer.

Rocco is also a passionate artist. He earned his bachelor's degree in Screenwriting for Film/TV from Emerson College and has explored various creative mediums beyond writing, including woodworking, photography, and performing arts. His insatiable curiosity and commitment to learning continue to deepen his connection to the arts, the world around him, and himself.

Rocco is set to direct Attaboy, a coming-of-age short film about a spirited twelve-year-old navigating the complexities of growing up trans in the early 2000s. This film, also written by Rocco, reflects his dedication to telling authentic and compelling stories about the trans experience.
